Baguio Parks

Baguio City is one of the most travelled cities in Northern Luzon. It is an ideal place for travelers and/or tourists because of its unique climate that would let you take pleasure in your stay. That is to be expected since Baguio City is the “Summer Capital of the Philippines”.

But before you pack your bags to Baguio City, here are some of the places that you might want include in your itinerary. I’m hoping that I can give some pointers that would help you in your travel. Just to make it clear, I am not being compensated to do this. I just wanted people to have a brief peek on what to look forward to in this magnificent place.

BURNHAM PARK

It is located in the center of the city. There’s a lot of things that this place can offer.  You can rent a bike for a minimal amount.  If you want to experience rowing a boat, it is also available. This is made possible because of a manmade lake at the center of the park. Picnic is also a good idea. There is also a skating rink at the southern part of the park and skates are ready for rent.  Benches are scattered around the park and this would be helpful in case you want to sit and scrutinize everything that the place have to offer.  Different plants are being sold on certain booths which are perfect for those who want to bring home ornamental plants for their garden. And for memorabilia, there are many vendors scattered in the area, from Baguio silvers, carvings, hats, shirts and the likes.  There’s a children’s park within the vicinity that would definitely make your kids happy. There’s also a football field within the area that is commonly used for concerts, parade, political rallies and other special events. Nonetheless, Burnham Park is a good stopover and important note: bring your camera. But if you forgot yours, don’t worry because there are photographers around always ready to take your pictures.

SESSION ROAD

Session Road is the business center of Baguio City. You will find different types of establishments in here. And it is important to note that it is a very busy place and for your own safety, safeguard all your belongings to avoid unwanted things to happen. There might be some people who would take advantage of the crowd for their evil deeds. Students from the city’s universities and colleges flock here during their free time. You can find anything you want in this area, I’m sure of it.

MINES VIEW PARK

This is one of the most visited places in Baguio City by tourist, both local and foreign. The view deck will offer you a glimpse of Baguio’s gold and copper mines on the surrounding mountains of the area. On the stairways on the entrance to the view deck, you can find native products for sale from weaved clothing, wood carvings, local delicacies and more. You can also take pictures with the locals if you want to.

BELL CHURCH

For those who want to have a taste of Chinese History, this will be the perfect place for you. Aside from artifacts that would give you a brief background on Buddhism, this place can offer you beautifully landscaped gardens. A Pagoda is also there if you want to have lunch or trouble-free “picnic style” snack.
